Altbier
Our German Old-Style ale is deep auburn in color and conditioned for at least two months before tapping. The wait is worth it, yielding a clean, light impression, especially when compared with the heavier American brown ales. It's a smooth, easy drinker with surprising depth, complexity and clarity.

Amber Ale
Our Amber Ale boasts a rich, copper hue and a perfect balance of malt sweetness and hop bitterness. Its caramel and toffee notes are complemented by a subtle hint of citrus, resulting in a smooth and refreshing finish. Ideal for those who appreciate a well-rounded, flavorful ale.

Apricot Milkshake IPA
Since our first experience with milkshake IPAs on a frigid night in Minneapolis, we’ve been experimenting with a style we continue to find fun and exciting - even while the purists scoff. This version was conditioned on apricots topping a highly-hopped IPA featuring Citra, Mosaic and El Dorado hops for an unrestrained tropical character and subtle wisps of vanilla.

Blackberry American Wheat
This light American wheat beer's natural sweetness is balanced by the bitterness of blackberries without overpowering the essence of the base beer. A refreshing change for those that enjoy the complexity that a restrained amount of tart fruit can lend to a sweeter wheat beer.

Bourbon Barrel Porter
This dark, complex brew showcases is big on flavor, but lighter on body. The bourbon notes dominate the aroma while lending a sweetness to the flavor that is balanced by the oak character borrowed from the barrel in which it was conditioned for over 8 months. It's a bigger beer that drinks easily for those that prefer big flavors of bourbon, coffee and oak.

Cathy's Coconut IPA
An experimental recipe from a favorite brew Cathy found in San Diego. Very bold IPA backbone provides an assertive beer on which to lay the dominant coconut finish. While it took some convincing for Chad, he eventually agreed to formulate a recipe. Very happy with the brew overall, but especially that it didn't turn out tasting like suntan lotion. Best on sunny Summer days.
5.2% ABV
Cathy's Pale Ale
American-style pale ale brewed with Centennial hops for a big, malty character balanced with just the right bitterness with a hint of citrus. The resulting beer is not overly hoppy or bitter. While not a traditional German style, a mug of this one still seems right under a tent in a West Virginia backyard.

Cascade Amber
The American amber is a style that can be widely interpreted. This beer is a crystal clear, auburn colored beauty with a frothy white head. It’s light in body and slightly more bitter than some ambers, showcasing the piney/floral notes of cascade hops through a late addition to the brew kettle.

The same wheat beer based as our blood orange, but with a subtler hint of sweet cherry to accent the soft flavors of lighter bodied wheat beer.

Citrusy IPA
The citrusy is one of our favorite warm weather IPAs – with a dedicated citrusy character and a balanced finish. Not a contender in the great American hops race, but a solid IPA for a balmy summer night or crisp Fall evening on the deck. But it's big enough to warm your cheeks from the inside. Cheers!

Coffee Brunch Stout
Coffee lovers and dark beer drinkers - this is the one for you. And we're not kidding on both - this one is very dark and the coffee is very prevalent. A touch of chocolate smooths this oatmeal brunch stout out nicely, and serving it on nitro gives it a silky, velvety character that makes drinking it feel a little disconnected - the flavor is intense but the mouthfeel is subtle and creamy.

Cranberry Campaigner Kolsch
For some unknown reason, we seem to brew our traditional Kolsch every other year in time for election day. Two years ago, we named it "Campaigner" because, well, you may need beer to get through some elections. This year, we added cranberries. Because, why not? The resulting Kolsch is crisp, clean and a tad bitter. And it tastes like cranberries. Don't think cranberries belong in your beer? How 'bout we all keep our opinions to ourselves this election year...

Deacon Mike's Chocolate Stout
This medium-bodied sweet stout is accented by a determined chocolate character, making it both satisfying, yet crushable. But this stout isn't going to replace a meal or fill you up too quickly. Serving it on nitrogen lends it a silky, almost velvety character and a robust mouthfeel that only adds to its decadent flavor. Pairs especially well with desserts, especially chocolate covered strawberries. Enjoy!

DIPA
Malt forward and bold, this Double India Pale Ale isn't overly hoppy. Its primary characteristic is found in the grain bill - with several European caramel malts lending a sweet, bready flavor that is kept in check with a significant, yet not overly aggressive, hop schedule. The result is an intense, almost fruity, brew.

Dr. Watson's Vanilla Porter
Like a riveting Sherlock Holmes' case, the challenge has been accepted: Solve the mystery of brewing the perfect Vanilla Porter. What we've uncovered thus far is a true gem: a jet-black beauty with a lustrous head and full body. Sweet, but not cloying, with a faint smokiness interlaced within this beer's highly-roasted dominant main character. We just may be on to something, my dear Watson.

Festbier
Moderately sweet maltiness is balanced with a decisive dose of German Hallertau Mittelfruh Hops, creating a balanced pilsner with hop character than some mainstream pilsners. Much lighter in color than our Mez O'Fest, this balanced, drinkable, and not overly filling brew pairs perfectly with the slight crispness of Fall evenings and the light crunch of leaves under our feet.

Golden Promise Pale Ale
This pale ale gets its most defining characteristics from the primary base malt used - Golden Promise. This Scottish barley produces a sweet brew, resulting in a clear and clean beer. While this is brewed to be an American pale ale and presents a hint of citrus and a pleasant spicy undertone, the malt is definitely the star of this balanced, crushable ale.

Inspiration Cherry Stout
In the early 90s, a beer and food festival in D.C. left an impression that would lead to Mezera Brewing over 20 years later. An experimental cherry stout by Dominion Brewery stole the show, and after numerous test batches, we proudly present a beer reminiscent of the first craft beer that inspired one brewer’s journey. Dark and complex with a deep red hue, this milk stout features an unmistakable cherry accent on top of coffee and chocolate notes.

JAB - Just Another Blonde
An American blonde ale that punches all the requirements of the style and somehow after blending a versatile grain bill and hop schedule manages to be just another example of the style. JAB might lack a bit of character to make it memorable, yet it’s a good drinker and mostly uncomplicated. We’re still searching for our unforgettable blonde.

Kentucky Common - Dark Cream Ale
This distinctively dark ale marries the smooth creaminess of a traditional cream ale with the bold character of darker malts, with hints of toffee, toasted caramel and coffee intermingled in its sweet undertones. Despite its darker hue, this is a refreshing, crisp and sessionable ale.

Knickerbocker Lager
This pre-prohibition American lager is a tip of the hat to a distant family connection – founder of Knickerbocker Brewery, Jacob Ruppert. A simple grain bill that includes flaked corn and 6-row malted barley yields an unassuming yet still distinct light beer with enough character to entice a refined palate while still embraceable by a wider, less discerning audience.

Kottbusser
Another old world German beer style that was essentially outlawed by Reinheinsgebot (the 1516 German Beer Purity Law), this uncommon type of brew incorporates honey and molasses into a very light-colored, slightly hazy beer with a subtle complexity and a dryness from the additional sugars introduced by the adjunct ingredients. You might detect a floral aroma and slight bitterness in the finish from the molasses.

Lakeside ESB
This English Special Bitter is a style that exists at the intersection between bready Maris Otter pale malt and the earthiness of First Gold English hops. A true session beer, this ESB is nicely balanced and has a rich flavor while remaining light bodied - perfect for a late summer evening by the lake (or under a tent, if that's where you happen to find yourself).

Munich Dunkel
Clean, malty and easy on the palate, dunkel is a perennial favorite of darker beer lovers under Oktoberfest tents everywhere, yet sadly it’s not common in U.S. brewpubs. This traditional German style utilizes Tettnanger hops and Bavarian lager yeast, yielding a dry, yet still malty, brown lager. A lighter drinker with enough roasted flavor to satisfy the darker beer lovers, but not so much body that it'll fill you up quickly.

Rock Your Boat Cream Ale
This quintessential “lawnmower” beer is fitted to summer, like light linen Seersucker shorts and boat shoes. Roggenbier
German brewers were legally forced to stop brewing with rye after the 1516 German Beer Purity Law, Reinheitsgebot, went into effect. Still, rye beers were once common and popular in Bavaria, which gave us this delicious, yet now sadly uncommon, style of beer. Our roggenbier is visually stunning, the color of maple syrup and slightly hazy, with a frothy head the color of a latte. This beer is spicy and complex, but not bitter.

Sarah, Don’t Give Liam Helles
Our Helles is a striking golden lager - clear, uncomplicated and nicely balanced, yet full of flavor (like a good marriage). This malt-forward style was developed in Munich in the late 19th century by Bavarian brewers wanting to compete with the hugely popular Czech Pilsners of the time. Brewed for one of our favorite nieces and her husband, who came to love this style while studying abroad in Austria.

St. Patrick's Irish Red
When a priest from an Irish Catholic church asks if you could brew a beer appropriate for St. Patrick’s Day dinner, there’s one style that leaps to mind– the quintessential Irish Red Ale. This brew is both malty and complex, with just enough bitterness to provide an appropriate balance. A frothy beige head accents a dominantly red-colored beer intended to be raised to good health and fortune. Sláinte!

Three Friends IPA
Quickly becoming one of our flagship brews, this complex IPA isn't going to suit everyone's tastes, especially if you're not into the hop-forward beers. A trifecta of great American hops combine to form a big, bold brew with substance and character. So grab a couple of friends and settle in to reminisce about the dumb things you all did in your 20s. And cheers to at least a little maturity you hopefully picked up since then.

Trace of Winter White IPA
Combining the hop schedule of an IPA with the grain bill of a witbier results in a delicious specialty IPA that is distinctly cloudy and showcases a fruity hop character (particularly from the Galaxy hops used for dry hopping) that accentuates the complexity of the wheat, oats and malted barley. While this one can be enjoyed year-round, it's an ideal transition as the Fall gives way to winter's holiday beers.

Two-Rotor Pale Ale
This brew showcases the features of its single hop, the versatile Chinook, which imparts a piney and spicy character and lends complexity to this beautifully-balanced American pale ale. Named after the hop and a childhood memory of my father pointing at a helicopter taking off on an Army base, saying "You see that one, that's a Chinook. You can tell because it has two rotors." I miss him every day.

One of the truly great summer beer styles, this is a pale, refreshing German wheat beer with modest amount of alcohol, virtually no bitterness, and a bready backbone. Look for subtle notes of bananas and cloves, a result of the famous Weihenstephan yeast strain.
